Nick Cannon And Mariah Carey Engaged?

The latest buzz is are Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey engaged? The two have been sighted holding hands. There are also photos of Mariah wearing a big ring Saturday night during a New York afterparty for her new film "Tennessee. Various media reports suggests that she may be engaged.

Nick Cannon stopped by MTV News offices to promote his new film "Ball Don't Lie, and they asked him about the rumor. Cannon danced around the questions.

Carey is supposedly dating executive Mark Sudack, a member of her management team. But on April 15, People.Com ran a story called "Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's Night Out in Vegas." The story claimed that they flew into Sin City on a private jet and were spotted at a nightclub, getting "cozy" at one of the VIP tables.

The final thing adding credibility to the rumor was the report by People.Com that claimed the two held hands for most of the afterparty and never left each other's side all evening.

The rumors are either real or they are both just trying to use the media to help promote their new film projects.

MC Serch Is Back

It was about 10pm and I was channel surfing. Nothing on as usual but I came across MC Serch and YoYo.

They were on a show called Ego Trip's Miss Rap Supreme. The show is about female rappers from all over. In the first episode Search and YoYo watch as each of the contestants auditions by spiting a few bars.

Some are good and some just did not need to show up. After listing to all the contestants, the shows hosts pick 10 who will live in a house and compete against each other.

What's notable about the show is that Khia who sang "My Neck, My Back" auditioned for the show and got on. Serch brings up the fact that she sold 800,000 records and asks her what did she learn. She replied, she learned that you have to keep on grinding.

The show has been on since April 14TH but there is still a lot of episodes left. It's on VH-1 at 10pm so check it out.

Wesly Snipes Gets 3 Years For Tax Evasion

It seems to me that a lot of African-Americans are heading to jail. Especially those who are famous. Remy Ma, T.I., and Foxy who recently got out.

The latest celebrity heading to jail is the star of the Blade movies Wesly snipes. He has been given a 3 year federal prison sentence and a 5 million dollar fine for not paying his taxes.

I hate to see anyone go to jail but the government has a thing about not giving them there cut.

Wesly is going to a federal prison which is usually like country club. Most residents play Tennis and the cells are unlocked.

But on the good side Snipes fans will be rushing to see the next Blade movie made after he is released.

The sentence in my opinion is unfair because it was only given to make an example out of him to others.

Detectives Found Not Guilty By Judge

The three detectives took a chance and put their fate in the hands of the judge. Supreme Court Justice Arthur Cooperman found theme not guilty of all charges.

Many people beleived that the guilty verdict would cause trouble for the city. But so far nothing has surfaced.

The reason for aquitting the Detectives was that the prosecution did not prove their case and it's witnesses were not credible. Judge Cooperman found that the Police response with respect to each defendant was not found to be criminal.

In English the detectives did make a mistake but the mistake did not come about out of a criminal act. The actions they took were based on the information that they had at the time. The judge believed that the Detectives believed that there was a gun present.

Mayor Bloomberg said it best there are no winners in a trial like this. An innocent man lost his life, a bride lost her groom, two daughters lost their father, and a mother and a father lost their son.

The Sean Bell story is a tradgedy for all involved.

Dave Chappelle Sued By Ex-Manager

The weathers breaking and where am I inside working on today's story. I thought to my self I have not heard anything about Dave Chappelle in a while. And then I came across a website called BlackNews.com where low and behold there was his picture dressed as Prince from his skit with Charley Murphy.

It appears that Dave's former manager is trying to get what he feels he is owed. In 2005 Dave's former manager Mustafa Abuelhijia settled a lawsuit with Chappelle after he was fired.

The settlement said that Abuelhijia was to receive 10% of the profits from 'Dave Chappelle's Block Party', 10% of the money that Chappelle got from seasons 2, 3, and 4 of the Chappelle Show' and 10% of the money he received for the comedy special
'For What It's Worth.

So far, Abuelhijia claims he has not received anything from Chappelle. In a new development the former manager has filed a new lawsuit in New York claiming that Chappelle has taken in close to 1.2 million since they signed the settlement and he feels he is entitled to 10% of it.

I think that the former manager is entitled to the 2005 settlement money but he has no claim to the recent money that Chappelle has made.

Mariah Carey's E=MC2 Equals $$$$$$

Mariah Carey is back with a brand new album called E=MC2. Kudos to her marketing department for using the most recognized formula created by Albert Einstein.

Mariah's new album has sold over 460,000 copies and is still going. As you know Mariah has had her ups and downs.

Her movie Glitter didn't due to well and she had a nervous break down but it appears that she is back on track making good music.

I did love her in State property and hope to see her in roles more befitting her.

Mariah,s E=MC2 is selling at the speed of light and I wish her all the success in the world.

This one is definitely a go getter.

Nas And The N Word

New York rapper Nas has been in the news lately because he created a song which uses the N word.

A large majority in the music industry support his decision to record such a song, however, their are many of the older generation who will find the song quite Offensive.

The song is basically the use of the N word set to the Dr. Pepper, Jingle. What Nas has attempted to do was lessen the sting of the N word. The song says the N word so much that it supposed to become powerless.

While I give him props on his attempt to lessen the power of the N word. I do not think that those who grew up with the N word when it had the power to humiliate and intimidate will agree.

Flava Flav AkA Cali Cal, Not So Good

Recently, I was watching the Upn network and came across Flavor Flav's new Show "Under one roof".

The show is about one brother who is rich and the other is a hood rat called
Cali Cal who is a pimp celebrity type.

The episode that I caught was idiotic. Tiny Lister played an ex-con who is in love with Cali Cal. So, they stage a fake funeral and naturally it dose not work.

In my opinion the show is terrible and probably won't make it. I have to say that I am a big fan of Flavor Flav but this was not the correct vehicle for him to come back with.

Remy Ma To Be Sentenced April 23rd

First I would like to say to my WooReportReaders that I do not usually write to my blog on Sundays but because I missed a day I thought it only fair to comment on Remy Ma's situation.

If you are not aware Remy Ma was convicted of shooting her best friend in the stomach over $2,0000 to $3,000 missing from Remy's Purse. Her lawyer claimed that the shooting was an accident but the judge and jury didn't believe her story. Then the judge ordered that she be held until her sentencing. We are now three days away from learning her fate. Remy Ma could receive up to 25 years in jail.

She is understandably nervous and asked her fans to go to her myspace page. Once on the page she asks her fans to write the judge and ask for a lesser sentence.

Remy Ma is in a bad position that she caused herself. While some who hate her like to see her on the ropes. I have not heard the final bell. My advice to Remy Ma is to pray to her higher power.

Keisha Knight Pulliam(Rudy)To Play Hooker

I think that everyone who has grown up on the Cosby show remembers the littlest member of the cast Rudy. She was the little girl who had the boy friend named Bud.

Well Rudy's all grown up and she will be playing a hooker in jail.

That right Rudy whose real name is Keisha Knight Pulliam is all grown up, and very all that.

Tyler Perry has selected her to play along side Madea who goes to jail. Hence the name of the movie "Tyler Perry's Madea goes to jail".

Madea befriends Keisha's character Candy and protects her from a fellow inmate named Big Sal who is preying on her in jail.

The film being distributed by Lion Gate and is due to be release in 2009.

I just can't see Keisha playing a common hooker. A high priced call girl like in the Spitzer scandal definitely. But a street walker, no way.

Foxy Brown To Be Released Today

It is 11:30am and Foxy Brown has not been released from Riker's Island yet. She was scheduled to be released today but no one knows what time.

Foxy was jailed 8 months ago, for violating her probation which began with assault charges after an fight with two manicurists.

Foxy was brought into court and told that her asking for another chance was just an act. She constantly violated her probation and would have to serve the time

People are waiting in expensive cars for her to be released. There are three
Bently's,three Escalades, and a gray Maybach.

I'm sure her manager Chaz Williams probably set up the vehicles and press coverage.

After being released Foxy will begin shooting both a reality show and a documentary about her career. She's in talks with a few TV people to explore the opportunities, according to her manager.

Foxy Brown has a lot of plans. So be sure to look out for her street album release called Brooklyn's Don Diva on May 13. It is being released on Koch entertainment.

It's good to hear that Foxy is being released today but I hope she learns to control her temper. Eight months is a long time to serve in prison because she can't walk away from bad situations.

Sharp James Convicted Of All Charges

Today in Newark, N.J. at the Federal Court House Ex- Mayor Sharp James was found guilty mail fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud.

Basically James was found guilty of steering his one time girl friend Tameka Riley into purchasing property from the city at a low price and then reselling it for a huge profit.

Reilly was also found guilty of tax Fruad and tax evasion. She also faces the charge of falsifying her welfare application to receive rental subsidy.

Sharp James was very upset and left via the rear federal building door. He faces up to twenty years in federal prison.

Jame's twenty years of service to the City of Newark has been all but washed away by the guilty verdict.

Slim Thug Released By Interscope/Star Trak At Own Request

Recently rapper Slim Thug asked to be released from his deal at Interscope/Star Trak records. Not only was the request granted but he will be free by the weeks end.

Slim Thug said they came up with an agreeable settlement and their are no bad feelings.

Slim was unhappy with his album "Already Platinum" had been handled as well as the constant staff turnover at interscope.

Slim Thug is preparing to release his group album "The Boss Hog Outlawz" as well as his second solo album the "Boss of all Bosses". Both projects are due out by the end of the year and will be released on Koch Records.

Excellent move Slim you can make a lot more money with Koch than you would have with Interscope.

Ray-J has also chosen to release his new material on Koch Records.

KKK Joke Gets Ohio Troopers Suspended

Over the years minorities have been the recipients of Police brutality. From Rodney King to Sean Bell, police officers appear to not care very much for minorities.

Recently, an Ohio state trooper put on a KKK costume while on duty the day before the Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The trooper Craig Franklin said he was only clowning around, like comedian Dave Chappelle. However, his superiors felt that it was a joke that went too far.

The trooper then allowed himself to be photographed on Jan. 20TH with a white cloth on his shoulders, a white paper mask and a pointed paper hat. But big problem was he was also in full uniform with his police radio, gun, and holster on.

Then to add insult to injury a fellow trooper Sgt. Eric Wlodarsky, took the cell phone picture and transmitted it. Franklin has been suspended without pay, and Wlodarsky has been demoted to trooper.

Highway Patrol investigators began looking into the troopers' actions after receiving an anonymous letter with two photos of Franklin in his homemade klan attire. Both troopers worked at a post in Sandusk, Ohio.

A third trooper was suspended for one day for receiving the picture via text message and failing to report it. He also forwarded the photo to a subordinate.

The Ohio trooper's have proven that law enforcement needs diversity awareness training and that they do not respect the minority population which they police.

The Jackson Five Struggle To Survive

I was surfing my one of my favorite website Bet.com and came across a disturbing article which said that the famous "Jackson Five" are broke and struggling to survive.

The New York Post printed a story that said that the Jackson's are broke because of Michael extravagant shenanigans.

The story then states that Marlon is stocking shelves at Von's grocery store; Randy is fixing cars at a friend's garage; Jackie is struggling trying to manage his son's rap career; Tito is struggling as a jazz guitarist making $100 for a gig if he's lucky; and Jermaine is just going back and forth between living with his parents and girlfriend.

What happened to all the money that they made back in the day. According to reports they signed to Michael's MJJ label, but refused to release any of their material. They also tied a lot of their money up, while paying for Michael's legal fees when fighting those allegations of child molestation.

So, where is Michael? In my opinion he should be the first person trying to help his brothers out. He could release some of the material they made while on his label.

It appears that the girls are smarter than the boys because even the Jackson with the least talent Latoya is estimated to be worth millions.

Finally, where is Janet she helped her boyfriend Jermaine Dupree when he had income tax problems.

They can always make an album on their own or maybe write a book together about what happened to all their money.

I was thinking to myself that I don't think that I have written anything about R. kelly. His music appears to have taken a back seat to the urinating on an underage girl charge.

So, what does R. Kelly do he reinvents himself and returns with Golden braids. He has died his hair the color of gold.

But R. Kelly is not the first to dye his hair you have Dru Hill, Samuel Jackson, and of course M&M the rapper.

I think that while it may not be original it is different and distracting, if you comprehend my meaning. Now we know it definitely was not him in the video.

Ray Jay's Back

Ray Jay is once again doing his thing on the music scene. He seems to hit us off with good songs like "One Wish" and then disappears leaving his fans wanting more.

Which brings us to his newest album entitled "All I feel". The first single from the album called "Sexy can I" appears to be doing well rapper Young Burg is also on the new track.

I checked out the video on You Tube and it was Hood. Ray Jay starts his video out with him driving in a Lamborghini. Then he cuts to his crib where Champagne and eye candy are everywhere.

Ray J has kept it very Hollywood with this video. The album hit stores on the 8Th of April. My recommendation is cop it.

It's good to see a brother trying to do something positive.

Stacey Dash On The Cover Of King Magazine

I was surfing the net and came across a Picture of Stacey Dash on the cover of King Magazine. She was perfect and definitely has a good future behind her.

I don't think I need to say more, just in case you don't know who Stacey Dash is. She is the sister of Damon Dash and star of the Clueless movie and series.

50 Cents Baby's Moma Sues For Mansion

According to the wire service (AP) 50 Cent is being sued by his baby's moma Shinqua Tompkins because he is trying to evict her and their ten year old son from their multimillion-dollar home.

5o Cent has been given a notice filed by his ex-girlfriend that she is suing him for breach of contract and unjust enrichment. Apparently 50 promised to give Tompkins and son Marquise a home.

Tompkin's lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, said that 50 Cent had promised her the home up until the closing. Then he decided not to put it in Tompkins name. Now he is trying to evict her along with his son.

50 paid 2.4 million for the home, which is one of the largest on Long Island, in the neighborhood of Dix Hills.

What 50 Cent is doing sounds unthinkable but she did try to get him for $15,000 per month in support. Im sure it left a bad taste in his mouth.

50 and his ex should have been able to work that out between themselves without lawyers. Tompkin's lawyer points out that his client helped nurse 50 back to health when he was shot multiple times and spent 13 days in the hospital.

50 may have promised her a house but Im sure not a Mansion.

While researching this story I found that there are no photo's of Shaniqa Tompkins available on the web.

Did Jay-Z And Beyonce Wed?

First there was the April. 1St rumor of a marriage license being filed in Scarsdale, NY.

Then reports began to surface that the Super couple were to wed on Friday, April 4Th. It is believed that on Friday at 4pm, Jay-Z and Beyonce are believed to have exchanged vows at the Bloomberg building in Midtown Manhattan.

After the wedding guest began to arrive at Jay-Z's Tribeca apartment which had a white tent and flowers set up. Guest began to arrive in tinted-out Black SUVs.

Individuals in attendance were Destiny Child's Michelle Williams and kelly Rowland, Beyonce's dad Matthews Knowles and Little sister Solange, and Jay-Z's good friend Steve Stoute.

The wedding has not been confirmed yet, Jay-Z might have just been having
a party. But, my gut feeling tells me they jumped the broom.

Who Are The Hip-Hop Legends

I was surfing Bet.com and came across a survey of who is a Hip-Hop legend. At this stage of the game the line remains the same.

Biggie,Tupac, Jay-z, and Naz. Now to clarify how I came to this conclusion. I based my choices on the content of the rhymes created by each rapper.

These four men have one thing in common the relevance of the lyrics created and how each of their fan base identified with the messages that were being conveyed.

The ability of each of these rappers to entertain as well as inform kept their record sales in the millions.

Then their is the swagger that each rapper had everyone wanted to be Biggie, Tupac, Jay-Z, and Nas.

I think it will be a while before more prolific rappers come on the scene with all the qualities of Legends.

Notorious Big Movie To Begin Shooting

It has been a while since Biggie left us. But in an effort to make since of his life Fox Searchlight Films has cast the lead roles and begun shooting a film based on his life.

The role of Biggie Smalls went to rapper Jamal "Gravy" Woodard who beat out other hopefuls such as Beanie Sigel.

Biggie's mother is being played by Angela Basset and the movie should be out in 2009.

Biggie Smalls who's real name is Christopher Wallace was killed in March of 1997 by someone in a vehicle that pulled up next to the Suburban that he was riding in and opened fire.

Big was rushed to the hospital but die from his wounds. The Hip-Hop world was again stripped of another great talent.

Most people speculate that Bigg's death was the result of the East Coast/West Coast feud that also claimed Tupac's life 6 months earlier.

What's A Murse

It looks like a purse and women call it a murse. But what it actually is an overnite bag for men that can be carried at all the time. It helps empty pockets of wallets and etc.

Men can put their ipods, music, notebooks and just about anything in the bag. It's a much better way than carrying things in a backpack.

Most men don't want to carry them because they look purses. But I predict if the messenger bag says Louis Vittton or Gucci brothers are going to cop it.

So ladies don't call it a murse or a manbag. The brothers want to galavant around town in comfort with their messenger bags.

I remember reading that Lil' Wayne had said that he appears on everyone else's songs and helps make the songs hot but when he needs the favor returned most peope are too busy.

This time the fans have got his back. Lil' Wayne is moving up the Bill Board Hot 100 Charts quickly with his new song "Lollipop" which features deceased singer/producer, Static Major on the track.

"Lollipop" has only been on the Hot 100 Chart for two weeks and it's current position is now at #9.

"Lollipop" is hot and the first single from Lil' Wayne's new project, The Carter III is burning up radio stations and popular nightspots around the country.

Atlanta Cops Caught In Scandal

It has long been theorized that most of the men who wore sheets back in the day didn't disappear they simply joined up with a new Klan.

A major police scandal in Atlanta could result in officers being prosecuted for two fatal shootings as well as theft, racial prejudice and even evidence tampering by a top official in the coroners office.

A grand jury released reports calling into question the actions of a Dekalb County Police officer who shot and killed a 19-year-old Black man in August of 2006 and another man who was fatally shot 19 times that same month.

The grand jury had no authority to return a criminal indictment but recommended further investigation.

The Special panel also found that of 29 shootings reviewed, 23 were deemed justified and that officers were found not at fault in non-shooting deaths of two suspects in custody.

The families of some of the individuals killed want the cases moved to courts outside of Dekalb County.

The bottom line is in the span of 8 months 12 people were shot in Dekalb County and
the grand jury found the majority of them justified.

Officers in Dekalb County appear to be shooting first and asking questions later. If officer are that afraid of the public especially Blacks then maybe they are in the wrong profession.

The test for jury's used to be, it maybe justifiable to use deadly force if an officer feels his life is in imminent danager. If all the shooting in Dekalb County have been legitimate then it has to be the most dangerous county in the nation.
