Huey Freeman had a dream

Last night at about midnight an episode of the Boondocks started. It opened with the animated footage of Dr.Martin Luther King standing on the balcony of the hotel that he was shot at.

But instead of dying Dr. King slipped into a comma for thirty years and awoke in our time. The world was a very changed place. First he was giving a seven figure book deal and lost it because when ask if we should use violence against Al-Queda, he said
we should do the Christian thing and turn the other cheek.

The government didn't take his answer to well and tried to make him look as if he supported Al-Queda.

Huey shows up at a king book signing and their is no one in the book store. So Huey invites Dr. King to dinner at his home. Dr. King surprises everyone because he and the boys grandparents are friends.

After dinner Huey and Dr. King proceed to set up an action network and prepare to hold a political awareness rally. The rally turns into a party because Dr. king hired a public relations firm.

So, now the rally is a big party and everyone attending is not behaving well. The makes Dr. King very angry at the end he lets everyone have it and wakes them up by moving to Canada.

Black people begin to protest and ask why are we no better off than we were thirty years ago.

The episode concludes with Dr. Martin Luther King dying at 91 in Canada and Oprah Winfree being elected President in 2020.

Huey states at the end of the episode I can dream.

The episode was a great what if. And hopefully really made people think. It was good to see Dr. King again. If only in a dream.

One Love, One Nation, One World
