Teachers, Sex Crimes, And Race

Recently in Laurens county S.C. a teacher named Allena Ward was given a six year prison sentence for having sex with a 14 and a 15 year old boy.

Ward admitted to having sex at the school where she taught, a park, a motel and a restaurant. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison each of the three counts of lewdness, but her sentence was reduced to six years in prison to run concurrently.

Some African-American residents suggested that the punishment would have been harsher if the victims had been White and the perpetrator Black.

So, has the South changed? I would say no whites still get much better treatment when it comes to breaking the law. And had the races been reversed the sentence would have been thirty years easy.

Someone in trusted with the care of children should have received a stiffer sentence because of the damage that she has caused by betraying the authority figure role she had over the two boys.

One Love, One Nation, One World.
